  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (egg wash)

For topping

  • Powdered sugar

1️⃣ Activate the yeast

  1. Warm the milk (not hot).

  2. Mix milk + yeast + 1 tbsp sugar.

  3. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.


2️⃣ Make the dough

  1. In a large bowl combine:

    • Flour

    • Remaining sugar

    • Salt

  2. Add:

    • Yeast mixture

    • Egg

    • Melted butter

    • Vanilla

  3. Mix and knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.


3️⃣ First rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl.

  • Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.


4️⃣ Shape the twists

  1. Punch down dough.
