🥬 Slow Cooker Cabbage & Ground Beef

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1½–2 lbs ground beef (raw)

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 4–5 cups chopped green cabbage

  • 1 (14–15 oz) can diced tomatoes (undrained)

  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional but recommended)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella (optional)

Optional add-ins:

  • ½ cup uncooked rice (for cabbage roll style)

  • ½ cup beef broth (if adding rice)

  • Bell peppers or carrots


🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Layer (Do Not Brown Beef)

  1. Spread raw ground beef evenly in bottom of slow cooker.

  2. Sprinkle diced onion over beef.

  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

  4. Layer chopped cabbage evenly on top.

  5. Pour diced tomatoes and tomato sauce over everything.

  6. Add Worcestershire sauce.

⚠️ Do not stir yet — layering helps it cook properly.


2️⃣ Cook

  • Low: 6–7 hours

  • High: 3–4 hours

Beef should reach 160°F internally.


3️⃣ Finish

  • Stir everything together once fully cooked.

  • Top with cheese.

  • Cover and let cheese melt (10 minutes).
