Pork Chop Supreme (Classic Baked)

Pork Chop Supreme (Classic Baked)

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about ¾–1 inch thick)

  • Salt & black pepper

  • Garlic powder (optional but recommended)

  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup milk or chicken broth

  • Optional add-ins:

    • Sliced mushrooms

    • Paprika or dried thyme

    • A splash of Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Season the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. Brown the chops
Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear pork chops 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden (don’t cook through).

  4. Arrange in baking dish
Place chops in a single layer. Scatter sliced onions (and mushrooms if using) over the top.

  5. Make the sauce
In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk/broth.
Add a pinch of pepper and any optional seasonings.

  6. Pour sauce over chops
Make sure everything is nicely coated.

  7. Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, until pork is tender and reaches 145°F internal temp.

  8. Rest 5 minutes before serving so the sauce thickens up.

How to Serve It

  • Mashed potatoes (mandatory, honestly)

  • Rice or egg noodles

  • Green beans, peas, or corn on the side

Easy Upgrades

  • Swap cream of mushroom for cream of chicken

  • Add sour cream (¼ cup) for extra tang

  • Sprinkle crispy fried onions on top for the last 10 minutes
