🛒 Ingredients

1½ – 2 lbs flank steak, skirt steak, or sirloin

1½ tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tbsp soy sauce (adds depth)

1 tbsp olive oil

4 tbsp unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
-
1 tsp lemon juice (optional but brightens flavor)
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Steak

Pat steak dry with paper towels.

Rub with salt, pepper, paprika, red pepper flakes, and soy sauce.

Let sit at room temperature 20–30 minutes.
2️⃣ Sear

Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over high heat until very hot.

Add olive oil.

Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare).

Internal temp:

130–135°F = medium-rare

140°F = medium

Remove and rest 5–10 minutes.
3️⃣ Make Garlic Herb Butter

Reduce heat to medium.

In same skillet, melt butter.

Add garlic and cook 30–45 seconds (don’t burn).

Stir in parsley, thyme, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice.
4️⃣ Slice & Coat

Slice steak against the grain into strips.

Return slices to skillet and toss in garlic butter for 30–60 seconds.

Spoon extra butter over top.
