Ingredients

  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef

  • 4–5 medium potatoes — diced or thinly sliced

  • 1 small onion — chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves — minced

  • 1 bell pepper — chopped (optional)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup cream or milk

  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce or ketchup (optional)

  • 2 tbsp oil or butter

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust)

  • 1/2 tsp oregano or Italian seasoning

  • Fresh parsley for garnish


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Heat oil in pan → cook onion & garlic until soft.

  3. Add ground beef → cook until browned.

  4. Add bell pepper, salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and tomato sauce → cook 3–4 minutes.

  5. In baking dish, layer potatoes on bottom.

  6. Spread cooked beef mixture over potatoes.

  7. Pour cream or milk evenly on top.

  8. Cover with foil → bake 35–40 minutes until potatoes soften.

  9. Remove foil, add cheese → bake another 10–15 minutes until melted & golden.

  10. Sprinkle parsley and serve hot.

  • Add mushrooms or corn for extra veggies.

  • Want spicy? Add chili flakes.

  • For extra creamy texture → mix cream with a little cream cheese or sour cream.

  • You can pre-boil potatoes 5 minutes to speed up baking.
