Cheesy Beef and Potatoes Skillet
Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

3–4 potatoes, peeled and diced small

1 tbsp oil or butter

1 tsp salt (to taste)

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp paprika
-
½ tsp Italian seasoning or dried parsley

1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or cheddar)

Optional: 2–3 tbsp water or beef broth
Instructions

Cook the potatoes
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add diced potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and mostly tender.
(Add a splash of water and cover for a few minutes if needed.) -
Brown the beef
Push potatoes to the side. Add ground beef to the skillet.
Break it up and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. -
Season everything
Stir potatoes and beef together.
Add garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Taste and adjust salt. -
Add cheese
Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
Cover skillet and cook on low 2–3 minutes until melted. -
Serve hot
Finish with a little parsley or black pepper if you like.
Tips & Variations

Extra crispy: don’t stir potatoes too often

More flavor: add diced onion or a splash of Worcestershire

Spicy: add chili flakes or smoked paprika

Creamy: stir in a spoon of sour cream before adding cheese
