Cheddar Cheese Bread (No-Yeast, Quick Bread)

This cheddar cheese bread is soft inside, golden on top, and crazy easy.


🧀 Cheddar Cheese Bread (No-Yeast, Quick Bread)

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, balances flavor)

  • 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup milk

  • ⅓ cup melted butter or oil

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • ½ tsp paprika or black pepper (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a loaf pan.

  2. Dry ingredients:
    In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and paprika.

  3. Cheese:
    Stir in shredded cheddar, coating it with flour.

  4. Wet ingredients:
    In another bowl, whisk milk, butter/oil, and egg.

  5. Combine:
    Add wet ingredients to dry. Mix just until combined (don’t overmix).

  6. Bake:
    Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle extra cheddar on top if you like.
    Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Cool:
    Rest 10 minutes, then slice and enjoy.


🌿 Optional Add-Ins

  • Jalapeños 🌶️ (cheddar-jalapeño bread!)

  • Chopped herbs (parsley, chives, rosemary)

  • Crumbled bacon

  • Garlic butter brushed on top after baking
