Banana Bread Brownies
Ingredients

½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted

¾ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup brown sugar, packed

2 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

¼ cup cocoa powder

½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

½ cup chocolate chips (optional but encouraged)
Instructions

Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease an 8×8-inch pan. -
Wet ingredients
Whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until glossy.
Add mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. -
Dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. -
Combine
Fold dry ingredients into wet just until combined. Don’t overmix.
Stir in chocolate chips if using. -
Bake
Spread batter evenly in pan.
Bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. -
Cool
Let cool completely before slicing (hardest step).
