Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs (Tender & Saucy)
Ingredients
-
2 racks pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
-
Salt & black pepper
-
2 tsp garlic powder
-
2 tsp onion powder
-
2 tsp smoked paprika
-
1 tsp chili powder (optional)
-
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-
2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
Optional flavor boosters
-
1 tsp mustard powder
-
½ tsp cayenne (for heat)
-
Splash of Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
-
Prep the ribs
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (this matters—use a butter knife and paper towel). -
Season
Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, and mustard powder if using.
Rub ribs all over with oil/butter, then coat generously with seasoning. -
Wrap & bake low and slow
Place ribs meat-side down on foil-lined baking sheet.
Cover tightly with another layer of foil (seal it well).
Bake for 2½–3 hours, until very tender. -
Sauce time
Carefully unwrap ribs (watch the juices—gold).
Increase oven temp to 425°F (220°C).
Brush ribs with BBQ sauce mixed with brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire. -
Caramelize
Return ribs to oven uncovered for 15–25 minutes, brushing with more sauce halfway, until sticky and slightly charred. -
Rest & serve
Let rest 10 minutes, slice, and dig in.
