Ingredients

🥔 Mashed Potatoes

  • 4–5 large potatoes — peeled & chopped

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 1/3 cup milk or cream

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

🥩 Beef & Gravy

  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef

  • 1 small onion — chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves — minced

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust)

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp oil or butter


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water 15–20 minutes until soft.

  2. Drain, add butter & milk → mash until creamy.

  3. Season with salt & pepper.

2️⃣ Cook Beef & Gravy

  1. Heat oil → cook onion & garlic until soft.

  2. Add ground beef → cook until browned.

  3. Add broth, Worcestershire, salt, pepper & paprika.

  4. Mix flour/cornstarch with little water → stir in.

  5. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thick gravy forms.

3️⃣ Serve

  • Spoon mashed potatoes into bowl.

  • Pour hot beef gravy over top.

  • Optional: sprinkle cheese or parsley.

  • Use leftover roast beef instead of ground beef.
