1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
(or about 2½ cups homemade cherry filling)
Instructions

Prep

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment.

Make the dough

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet until a soft dough forms.

Build the layers

Press ⅔ of the dough evenly into the bottom of the pan.

Spread cherry pie filling over the dough.

Drop remaining dough in small pieces over the top (don’t worry about covering it completely—rustic is perfect).

Cut into bars and try not to eat three immediately.
