Cheesy Ground Beef & Potato Casserole (Slow Cooker Style)
A hearty, comforting meal made with layers of tender potatoes, seasoned ground beef, and melted cheese.
🥔 Ingredients

1 ½ lbs (700g) ground beef

4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
-
½ cup milk
-
½ cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp paprika
-
1 tbsp olive oil or butter

1️⃣ Cook the Beef

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.

Add ground beef, cook until browned.

Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.

Drain excess grease.
2️⃣ Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, mix:

Cream of mushroom soup

Milk
-
Sour cream (if using)
Stir until smooth.
3️⃣ Layer in Slow Cooker

Lightly grease the slow cooker.

Add a layer of sliced potatoes.

Add a layer of cooked beef.

Spoon some sauce over the top.

Sprinkle a little cheese.

Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
4️⃣ Cook

Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours

HIGH for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender.
5️⃣ Optional Browning
If your slow cooker insert is oven-safe, place under the broiler for 3–5 minutes to brown the cheese on top.
