🥩 Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

For the patties:

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef

  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the gravy:

  • 1 packet (1 oz) brown gravy mix

  • 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix

  • 1 cup beef broth

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms

  • 1 small onion, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the patties
In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    Form into 4–5 oval patties.

  2. Brown (optional but recommended)
Sear patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side. This adds flavor but isn’t required.

  3. Layer in slow cooker
Place patties in the slow cooker.
    Top with mushrooms and onions.

  4. Mix gravy
In a bowl, whisk together gravy mix, onion soup mix, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
    Pour over patties.

  5. Cook

    • Low: 6–7 hours

    • High: 3–4 hours

  6. Serve
Spoon extra gravy over the top.
Great with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Optional Upgrade

For thicker gravy, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 20–30 minutes.

If you’d like, I can also give you a homemade-from-scratch gravy version (no packets).
