🍩 Easy Cinnamon Donut Loaf
Soft, buttery, and coated in cinnamon sugar — this tastes just like an old-fashioned cake donut in loaf form. No yeast, no frying!
🛒 Ingredients
For the loaf:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp nutmeg (optional but recommended)

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup sugar

2 eggs
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
For the cinnamon sugar topping:

¼ cup melted butter
-
½ cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon
👩🍳 Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×5 loaf pan. -
Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. -
Cream butter & sugar
Beat until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes). -
Add eggs & vanilla
Mix until combined. -
Alternate dry + buttermilk
Add dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with buttermilk.
Mix just until combined (don’t overmix). -
Bake
Pour into pan and bake 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. -
Cinnamon sugar coating
Let cool 10 minutes, remove from pan.
Brush warm loaf with melted butter.
Mix sugar + cinnamon and sprinkle generously over the top (or roll loaf in it for full coating).

Add a cinnamon swirl inside (mix ¼ cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon and layer in middle).

Drizzle with simple glaze (1 cup powdered sugar + 2–3 tbsp milk).
