  • Ingredients listed on box (usually eggs, oil, water)

Filling

  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ½ cup cold water

Topping

  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
or 2 cups homemade whipped cream

  • ½ cup Valentine sprinkles

  • Fresh strawberries (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Bake the Cake

  • Prepare and bake cake in a 9×13-inch pan according to package directions.

  • Let cool for about 15–20 minutes (still slightly warm is best).

2️⃣ Poke & Fill

  • Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake (about 1 inch apart).

  • In a bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water.

  • Stir in ½ cup cold water.

  • Slowly pour gelatin evenly over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.

3️⃣ Chill

  • Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours (or overnight) until fully set.

4️⃣ Frost & Decorate

  • Spread whipped topping evenly over the cake.

  • Add Valentine sprinkles and fresh strawberries if desired.

  • Chill until ready to serve.

💡 Fun Variations

  • ❤️ Use white chocolate pudding instead of gelatin for a creamy version.

  • 💗 Try raspberry or cherry gelatin for a deeper red color.

  • 💌 Tint whipped topping pink with a drop of food coloring.
