Amish Country Casserole

Here’s a classic, comforting Amish Country Casserole recipe — creamy, hearty, and perfect for a family dinner.

🥘 Amish Country Casserole

🛒 Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) tomato soup

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional but recommended)

🔪 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  3. Brown the beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess grease.

  4. Make the sauce
Stir in tomato soup, cream of mushroom soup, milk, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 2–3 minutes.

  5. Combine
Add cooked noodles to the skillet and stir until coated.

  6. Bake
Transfer mixture to prepared dish. Top with cheddar cheese (if using).
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and heated through.

🍽 Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 cup frozen peas or corn

  • ½ cup sour cream (for extra creaminess)

  • Swap cheddar for Colby Jack or mozzarella

  • Use ground turkey instead of beef

If you’d like, I can also share:

  • A slow cooker version

  • A from-scratch (no canned soup) version

  • Or a lighter/healthier variation
